Process Description: Water or wastewater is often dosed with a coagulant (e.g., ferric chloride or aluminum sulfate) and/or a flocculant to help colloidal particles and smaller particles clump together into larger clusters. A portion of the clarified water leaving the DAF tank is pumped into a pressure vessel (air drum) where compressed air is introduced, saturating the water with air. This air-saturated water then returns to the front of the float tank and passes through a pressure reduction valve. As the pressure drops, the dissolved air is released as tiny bubbles that adhere to the suspended particles. These bubble-particle aggregates rise to the surface, forming a sludge blanket that is then skimmed off.Key Components:

- Flocculator: A series of pipes where coagulants and flocculants are added for rapid mixing.
